Millennials, Younger Americans Continue to Show More Anxiety About Common Financial Planning Issues Than Older Generations

Younger Americans, including “millennials” age 25-34, show the highest level of concern across all generations for common financial planning issues, including saving for retirement, paying for a child’s education, and burdening others with final expenses. The 2014 Insurance Barometer Study, released today by nonprofit Life Happens (formerly the LIFE Foundation) and LIMRA, found that while sentiment has improved slightly among the overall U.S. population, younger consumers are noticeably more anxious about their financial plans, despite being best suited to take actions now that can make a difference.

Marking its 20th anniversary year, the LIFE Foundation today unveiled a revamped brand and website to speak more directly to the millions of Americans who are inadequately insured, through a message they can intuitively understand. The effort includes a new, completely redesigned website, as well as a refreshed brand and logo that represent the latest chapter in the organization’s efforts to inspire the public to take personal financial responsibility through the ownership of life insurance and related products. Going forward, the organization will be known as Life Happens, a nonprofit organization.

LIFE Foundation Seeks Applications for 2014 LIFE Lessons Scholarship Program; Will Award Record of $175,000 to Deserving Students

The nonprofit LIFE Foundation is now accepting applications for its annual LIFE Lessons Scholarship Program. Now in its tenth year, the scholarship benefits college students and college-bound high school seniors who are facing challenges achieving a higher education following the death of a parent or legal guardian who did not have life insurance.
