Life Happens Announces Two Grand Prize Scholarship Recipients

Arlington, Va. — Life Happens is proud to announce our two top prize winners of this year’s Life Lessons Scholarship Program: Mya Mercer and Zoe Mulzet. Thanks to a charitable grant from the MDRT Foundation, Life Happens was able to award scholarships to two deserving applicants. More winners from our scholarship partners will be announced later this year.

Mya Mercer, an 18-year-old from Johns Creek, GA, was awarded a $10,000 scholarship. She plans to attend Kennesaw State University. Mya lost her father, a small business owner, to kidney failure in 2017, after a prolonged battle with diabetes. Mya and her two siblings, along with their mother, lost not only their beloved father, but also the main breadwinner. Mya encourages every small business owner to seek out life insurance; not only is it protection for your family, but also for your business and employees.

Zoe Mulzet, a 20-year-old from Whitehall, PA, was awarded a $20,000 scholarship. She plans to attend Northampton Area Community College before transferring to a four-year university. Zoe lost her father when she was a freshman in high school. She was left to move in with her older sister and her family, after their mother left Zoe to fend for herself. It was this experience that showed Zoe how important proper planning and life insurance are for those you leave behind.
